DisruptHR NEWS: The Future of Work Is Here — DisruptHR Is Where It's Happening
Γεια σου Disruptor! In 2013, we held the first DisruptHR event in Cincinnati, OH. Our goal was simply to bring together business leaders from throughout our city and region who were interested in sharing disruptive ideas about the future of work. We decided to borrow the format of Ignite Talks, with 5-minute Talks and 20 slides that advance every 15 seconds, and we settled on our purpose with inspiration from TED — "Ideas worth spreading... about the future of work." At that first event, 13 speakers shared their ideas with 250 people in a 160-year-old brewery hall, and the speakers included a copywriter, plant operations director, executive director of HR, city council member, executive recruiter, COO, blogger, product manager, and a founder & CEO. (Not every good idea about disrupting the future of work must come from the folks in HR!) I hope that in the past 10 years, you've been inspired or challenged by something or someone that you've heard at a DisruptHR event or seen in a DisruptHR Talk video. Just last month, DisruptHR Talk videos on our Vimeo channel were viewed almost 15,000 times, so the ideas shared at our events are still spreading! Thank you for being a part of our DisruptHR global community! We're excited to see, hear, and share your disruptive ideas about the future of work for many years to come. Hello Disruptor! Have you ever wondered what makes a DisruptHR Talk truly great? Forget perfect polish or pro speakers - to me, it's all about passion and pushing boundaries. I've seen many nervous first-timers, and the timing of the slides getting away from some speakers, but their ideas? Interesting.
