G'Day Disruptor!

2023 will go in the record books as one of the biggest years for DisruptHR events, and one of the best - if not the BEST!

We're already seeing scheduled events in 2024 pop up on our Upcoming Events calendar, and I know that many more dates will be announced after the first of the year.

I hope that you'll make plans to attend, be a speaker, or sponsor a DisruptHR event in your city in 2024!

Every day, I see comments and posts on LinkedIn from people who have joined the disruption, and rave about their experience. Here's just a few from the last couple of weeks:

Collin Ponzo - "Last month I had the pleasure of speaking at DistrupHR Boise. I got to tell a whole room of HR folks why they all suck at recruitment. It really is a topic that I am passionate about and something I want to see change. I want to thank Cammas Freeman for the opportunity and the 🎤 to yell at a couple hundred people for a few minutes."

Judy K. Herman - "You could feel the 'good vibrations' in the room. . . FYI, title of my talk was “Pick’n up Good Vibrations.” Each of us had 20 slides which advanced every 15 seconds for our concise & clear messages! More than anything, there was wisdom in the room and great relationships with the movers and shakers in our awesome #chattanooga city!"

Steven Reuter - "In October I had the pleasure of traveling to Moorhead to speak at the DisruptHR Fargo-Moorhead event. Not only was it wonderful to check out my Alma mater, Concordia College, and speak on one of my favorite subjects, I met some absolutely remarkable people in the process."

Shelley Cadamy - "I presented on #secondchancehiring at DisruptHR Tulsa, and learned that one of the attendees started Second Chance Hiring because of my presentation."

Brad Owens - "I credit DisruptHR LLC for sending my career on a rocket ship and it’s all because my talk went viral."

Jamie Swaim - "I’m blown away! Speaking at DisruptHR was bucket-filling. The support in the preparation (thank you speaker coach, Olivia Fitchett), the amazing group I was able to speak with, and the entire experience was top notch. Honored to be included in this list!"

Louie Lugo - "I am incredibly humbled to be in the Top 5 (#2) of DisruptHR talks; simply flabbergasted. I simply sought to share some of my story, and share my passions in the workplace and in life. It is heartening to know that resonates with people."

Esteban Sánchez Botero - "I decided to throw myself out there and give public speaking a shot! No better way to do it than DisruptHR Halifax. ⏰ 5 minutes to say something meaningful. ⏲️ 15 seconds between each slide that changes automatically. Trial by fire 🔥."

Hello Disruptor! Have you ever wondered what makes a DisruptHR Talk truly great? Forget perfect polish or pro speakers - to me, it's all about passion and pushing boundaries. I've seen many nervous first-timers, and the timing of the slides getting away from some speakers, but their ideas? Interesting. That's the DisruptHR spirit: sharing bold ideas, even if it shakes things up a bit. And guess what? A DisruptHR idea doesn't have to be "disruptive" to be impactful. Some of my favorite Talks...

Բարև խանգարող! As I've shared in previous editions of this bi-monthly newsletter, we're excited to be celebrating the 10th anniversary of DisruptHR on December 13, 2023, with our eighth event in Cincinnati, OH — where DisruptHR began back on December 13, 2013. It's been an amazing journey since then! We've grown from a small group of passionate HR professionals located in our city, to a global community, which now includes 154 licensed cities in 34 countries. 😮 And along the way, we've helped...

Hello Disruptor! What makes a DisruptHR Talk great? I shared seven tips in the last DisruptHR NEWSletter for giving a great DisruptHR Talk, but I believe that more goes into making a Talk great than the delivery. Some of my personal favorite DisruptHR Talks have been given by people who were terrified to take the stage (it showed), got behind on their slides (but recovered with humor), or had never spoken on stage before (so they were a little rusty). But they all believed in their ideas and...
